I donned my Banana Republic photo vest, Tiley Hat and High Tec hiking boots to nail this Larkdaisy—AKA Centratherum punctatum or Brazilian bachelor's button.

Below, a Larkdaisy at a different stage of development. It was an overcast day—flattering for floral portraits—and I saw this Larkdaisy smiling at me from beneath a hibiscus. It’s tiny, and I wish I had a macro lens, but made due with the 70-200 in my bag. A few minutes later I was caught in a tropical downpour and fled to the trees for cover.
